Dietary Supplements to boost health

March 10th, 2009

Providing health insurance for your family is an essentiel part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Vitamins are the most widely used supplements of all. There are many “all in one vitamins” that have extra added herbs in them. Every year there are new supplements that come out. People take supplements for many reason. They don’t eat right or the want to treat a condition “naturally”.

You here about what herbs can do for you and sometimes physicians recommend them. You should never take more then the recommended doses. They can be toxic and they can counteract with other medications.

That is why it is so important to discuss this with your doctor.

Not all the herb claims that you hear are true and not all supplements are manufactured the same. Some are more potent then others. You can find out more about dietary supplements by browsing the world wide web.

For optimum health you should eat a well balanced diet and get exercise. These two things are essential to good health. If you are basically healthy and have a well balanced diet and you work exercise into your daily routine you will get all the supplement you need.

Equally important is home and auto insurance.  Insurance is meant to keep you from financial breakdowns when the unexpected occures.

Fit for health-The right shoe counts!

February 24th, 2009

Foot, knee and legs can all be affected by the type of shoes we wear.  Make sure you are wearing the right shoes to stay healthy

Buy your shoes towards the end of the day. The reason for this is that our feet tend to sell some during the day, especially in the summer months. So if we buy a shoe in the morning it may not feel as well that evening.

I know women love these cut little dainty pointed toe shoes, that make our feet look so small and feminine. But, you should never buy a shoe with a pointy toe. They do not allow enough room for your toes to move around and can permanently alter your foot.

What about those flip flops and slip on shoes everyone loves so much? They are so convenient. But they are a major hazard. Not only do they not protect our feet well, but they can cause all kinds of accidents. Many people slip and fall from wearing slips ons every year, causing injury.

I am sure you didn’t think I would go without mentioning high heels! Of course I am. High heels make us have an improper gait. It kicks your body out of proper alignment causing all kind of strain on our backs , knees and legs. Not to mention the obvious hazards.

Insurance in Texas is Important

February 10th, 2009

Health insurance is an impotant thing to have as is auto insurance.  There are even stiff laws in Texas regarding Auto Insurance. When looking for auto insurance there are 6 separate coverage’s that you will need to consider. Bodily Injury liability is one. This applies to injuries that you or a designated driver may incur from someone else in an accident. You will not want to scrimp on this coverage, medical bills can be very expensive.

PIP or Personal Injury Protection covers you or the drivers and passengers of your vehicle. Property Damage Liability covers your or designated driver damages to someone’s property. This could be a house, car, lamp post, fencing or even a tree.

Collision is typically an added bonus for you. It covers the damage done to your car in the event of a collision, whether your at fault or not. It is normally not a state mandated coverage. The other is Comprehensive Coverage. Is for damage caused by something other then collision such as; theft, animals, weather or falling objects to name a few.

Last but certainly not least is your uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. This is also a coverage the state does not force you to have, but it ions highly recommended. This insurance will cover you and passengers if you are struck by an uninsured motorist or a victim of hot and run. It will also pick up the slack if the motorist does not have sufficient coverage to cover all damages.

Self Employement Health Insurance

January 20th, 2009

If you have a small company you may find it difficult to afford to offer health insurance benefits to your employees. If you are self employed and you have no employees finding affordable health insurance options for yourself can often be a challenge as well.

Maybe you have a little company with just 2 or 3 employees. Or you are the guy that works for himself by himself in the home office. Could you be the contractor that has no company backing benefits.

Either way it would be a huge financial burden if you had to take time off work and pay all your medical bills in full if you become sick. This is the main reason health insurance is so important. Not for the convenience or prestige! It gives financial security.

There are options for you. The smartest way to look into your options is the world wide web. Research all the many plans , carriers and rates. Decide what your budget is and what you can afford. Explore the pros and cons of individual health insurance.

There are so many carriers and they all have a variety of plans to compete for business. You can find the bare minimum plans to cover you if something major should occur. Or the full package, that covers office visits and prescriptions.

You can even get quotes for small group health insurance. Many carriers offer this option to business with 3-50 employees. This option can be very expensive however since the rate depending on many factors of all in the group including health.

If you can not afford the Group health insurance many carriers will do a list bill for you. You can offer to pay a certain amount for your employees and then they can choose their plan and what they want to spend. The carrier then send one bill to the company and you make deductions accordingly.

When you start searching for health insurance it is not always easy to understand. All the plan lingo can be confusing. Total out of pocket versus deductible does not make sense to many. In this case it is smart to enlist the help of a broker. A broker can walk you through the plans and enrollment process. They can even assist you once you have purchased if questions should arise.

Texas Health Insurance - Healthy Weight Loss

January 16th, 2009

Weight loss is one of the top goals set by American’s every year. Achieving it is one of the hardest things to accomplish. It not only requires will power, but also a good knowledge of what really works. I myself have tried every diet in the book. Diets do not work. Some health insurance policies offer incentives for weight loss.

The first step to weight loss is to visit a doctor. Find out what a healthy weight is for you. Rule out any health problems that could hinder your weight loss efforts. Your doctor can help you make sensible goals to strive for.

Experts agree that losing weight slow is the healthiest way. Not only the healthiest, but you are more likely to keep it off in the long run. You would want to be under a physicians close supervision for any rapid weight loss. Two pounds a week is a good number to shoot for.

The reason I say diets do not work is because most of them are a restricted food intake. There are many more reasons besides intake of fat and calories that contribute to our weight. The amount and type of food is a big factor. But, physical activity, genetics, age and health condition all play factors as well.

A realistic approach is your best bet. A positive lifestyle change that addresses all of these factors is the smartest way to go. It does require a commitment to the changes. make sure you are ready for this. The worse thing you can do is set yourself up for failure.

Do the research that educates you to make the wisest decisions and changes possible. Don’t think that a pill or shake is all you need. You will be disappointed. On these fad diets you will lose weight at first. And you will gain it back, with a vengeance!

Good nutrition is a good start. We all know what foods are healthy. If you don’t learn it. Start a physical fitness habit. Even if it is just taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking in the farthest space it can help.

There are many benefits to losing weight. When you are overweight you are at risk for many health conditions, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. And one most don’t think about, emotional suffering.

Medical Insurance for Texas

July 1st, 2008

Residents living in Texas have a large variety of Medical Insurance companies they can choose from, when they are searching for health insurance. You will also have the option of purchasing an individual policy or a family policy, depending on what your needs are. When you are shopping for Medical Insurance one thing you will need to figure out is how much you are willing to pay for out of pocket. These out of pocket charges include; co-pays, prescriptions, and deductibles. Most Medical Insurance plans in Texas offer a different range of plans that comes with a different price. Usually, if you want to pay cheaper each month people will go with a higher deductible, meaning if they are hospitalized or have to go see a specialist, they must pay for their deductible before their insurance will kick in. Now if you don’t mind paying more each month, but don’t want to have to pay for out of your pocket in case you are admitted into the hospital, you can choose a lower deductible, or no deductible. Ultimately, the choice is yours. If you are still unsure, or need help feel free to give us a call at 866-526-9669.
